Overview

Driving to Prince Rupert, British Columbia provides for a fantastic road trip but is not the only way to travel to this port community. There are bus lines, rail travel, airlines and even the BC ferry system that provide transportation links. More than just a vital transportation hub, Prince Rupert is a surprisingly cosmopolitan city that offers visitors a combination of unique experiences including nature, history, and local personality. 

Prince Rupert is the last stop on east-west Highway 16, about 900 road miles northwest of Bellingham, Washington. Prince Rupert is 91 nautical miles southeast of Ketchikan or approximately 6 hours by ferry. Prince Rupert offers attractions that bring the coast’s ancient Indigenous cultures and pioneer heritage alive, along with great restaurants, fascinating shops, and colorful neighborhoods.
